Dovrien™ BridgeTap Dual-Computer USB-C Peripheral Sharing Switch
Dovrien™ BridgeTap is a compact USB-C peripheral sharing switch designed for people who regularly use two computers at the same workstation but do not want duplicate keyboards, mice, webcams, card readers, or other USB accessories. Both computers remain connected to BridgeTap, while shared peripherals plug into its front-facing USB ports. A single physical control transfers the connected accessories from one host computer to the other, creating a straightforward hardware workflow for switching between a personal laptop, work computer, desktop PC, or other compatible system.
🔀 One-Touch Computer Switching
A large mechanical selector on the top surface changes which connected computer currently controls the shared USB peripherals. Users can move a keyboard, mouse, webcam, or other compatible accessory between two systems without repeatedly unplugging cables from one computer and reconnecting them to another.
💻 Dual USB-C Host Connections
Two dedicated USB-C host ports keep both computers physically connected to BridgeTap at the same time. Each port is clearly labeled and positioned on the rear edge, separating computer connections from the peripheral ports used during everyday operation.
⌨️ Shared Peripheral Hub
Multiple USB connections on the front and side surfaces accommodate common workstation accessories such as keyboards, mice, flash drives, card readers, and compatible USB audio or video devices. The centralized layout helps turn several individual accessories into one shared hardware setup instead of tying each peripheral permanently to one computer.
💡 Clear Active-Host Indicator
Two discreet status indicators show which computer currently has control of the connected peripherals. The visual feedback is intentionally simple—Host 1 or Host 2—so users can identify the active system immediately without a screen, software dashboard, or decorative lighting effects.
🎛️ Optional Remote Switch Button
A small wired selector can be positioned closer to the keyboard or mounted beneath the edge of a desk. This allows BridgeTap itself to remain near the computers and cable connections while the frequently used switching control stays within easy reach.
🔌 Dedicated Auxiliary Power Input
A separate USB-C power connection can provide additional power for peripheral setups that require more than the connected computer should supply through the host link alone. This keeps device power separate from the switching function and makes the cable layout easier to understand.
BridgeTap uses a low, elongated housing with the two computer connections and power input grouped along the rear edge. Shared peripheral ports face forward and sideways for easier access, while the oversized host-selection button sits slightly recessed into the top surface to prevent accidental presses. The shell uses a fine-textured polymer finish with a weighted, non-slip underside that helps keep the unit stationary when several cables are attached.
A hybrid worker can connect a company laptop and personal computer to the same keyboard, mouse, and webcam, then switch those peripherals between systems with one press. A student using both a laptop and compact desktop can similarly keep storage readers and input devices connected without rebuilding the workspace each time.
Dovrien™ BridgeTap is designed for multi-computer users who want one organized set of USB peripherals and a direct physical way to decide which computer controls them.
